Benjamin Kelly is currently the radio voice for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Double-A, Kansas City Royals) based out of Springdale, Ark. He has held the position since March, 2014 and continues to broadcast all 140 home and road Naturals’ games solo.
During the season, Kelly is responsible for the production of daily game notes, writing press releases along with game recaps and working as a liaison between the clubhouse of the Naturals to the front office. He also is the Baseball Operations Coordinator working directly with the Royals through the player development contract.
Throughout the off-season, Kelly works as the radio voice for Bentonville High School (Bentonville, Ark.) for both girls and boys basketball games broadcasting all home and road contests. He also works as a fill-in on the local sports talk morning program on the CBS Sports Radio affiliate, 92.1-FM the Ticket.
He works on the Naturals’ media guide writing player profiles, editing photos and designing the layout of the 125-page publication. Kelly also is a voice in the community giving television and radio interviews on behalf of the organization while appearing as a guest speaker at many civic clubs in the surrounding area.
Kelly, 25, graduated with a degree in Broadcasting and a minor in Spanish from Goshen College (Goshen, Ind.) in 2013 where he played four seasons on the Maple Leaf baseball team. He is a native of Omaha, Nebraska.
